About Indigo Bay

Indigo Bay is situated on the 12 000 ha Bazaruto Island, part of the jewel-like Bazaruto Archipelago which lies 30 km east of mainland Mozambique. At 37km long and up to 7km wide, Bazaruto is the largest of the main islands comprising the archipelago and features white sands, large sand dunes and freshwater lakes surrounded by the translucent blue of the Indian Ocean.
There are no shops on Bazaruto, only natural beauty, pure white beaches and a wonderland of fauna and flora to discover. Preserving the natural environment is of paramount concern and the island was declared part of the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park in 1971.



How to get to Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa

Scheduled flights from Johannesburg OR Tambo, Nelspruit KMIA, Maputo & Beira, to Vilanculos. Pelican Air fly to Vilanculos from OR Tambo International Airport daily. ETA Travelmax fly to Vilanculos from Lanseria Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. LAM - Mozambique Airlines also fly to Vilanculos from OR Tambo International Airport, via Maputo. Swazi Express fly from Durban to Vilanculos via Matshapa on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On arrival at Vilanculos, you will be met by a representative from Indigo Bay, who will assist you with clearing customs & immigration prior to boarding the air shuttle. Transfer time to Indigo Bay from Vilanculos Airport is approximately 15 minutes.
